EPA "Recycle on the Go Success Story" for Oregon Convention Center released

President visits the Oregon Convention Center

As part of a recent West Coast campaign tour, President Barack Obama made his first visit to Oregon since 2008. More than 10,000 local leaders and supporters showed up to hear the president speak at a voter rally held on October 20th at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

OCC Executive Director Jeff Blosser, OCC Assistant Director Karen Totaro, and OCC Security and Special Services Manager Nick Brown were among those who greeted the president.

"I have had the honor of welcoming the three U.S. presidents who have visited the center since the early 90’s," said Blosser. "It is always a great and memorable experience."

"The president was extremely gracious and appreciative of the efforts our staff made to make the event go so smoothly, which made the long days of preparation all worthwhile," added Totaro.

"It was a thrilling moment and a great privilege," said Brown. "I think I'll keep the photo!"
