The Oregon Convention Center was awarded a grant through the Oregon Department of Energy to upgrade many of the facility’s less efficient lighting fixtures. The funds originated with the U.S. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
OCC will receive $235,063 to purchase and install new fixtures for the exhibit halls and lobby areas. The total value of the project, before state and local incentives, equals roughly $642,000.
Congratulations to OCC Executive Director Jeff Blosser and his team, including Operations Director Ryan Thorpe and Sustainability Coordinator Brittin Witzenburg, for identifying this innovative way to decrease energy costs, reduce the building’s carbon footprint, and support local jobs with this project!
